CDU General Secretary Carsten Linnemann has highlighted the importance of a political overhaul in the backdrop of the preliminary numbers on the development of the country’s gross domestic product in 2024.
“The air is getting thinner” Linnemann told the newspapers of the Mediengruppe Bayern. “These numbers once again show how important the political overhaul is. We urgently need a government that has a plan for Germany, no longer fights, and gives our country the urgently needed planning security.”
Linnemann sees the GDP numbers as a boost for Union demands. “We know that our country has the economic substance. But the focus must again be on competitiveness and growth. Only then can Germany be led back to its former strength.
