Three Construction Workers Die in Neckartal Bridge Accident in Germany’s Baden-Württemberg
A devastating construction site accident on the Neckartal Bridge B32 in the Freudenstadt district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, claimed the lives of three workers on Tuesday. The men, aged between 40 and 46, plummeted to their deaths after a steel cable snapped, causing the transport gondola to fall from a great height, according to the police and state prosecutor’s office, which announced the incident on Wednesday.
At around 12:30 pm, the workers had boarded the gondola, which was intended to take them to a bridge pillar. The exact reason for the failure of the cable’s fastening mechanism remains unclear, but it led to the gondola’s catastrophic fall. Despite immediate rescue efforts, the men could not be saved.
Authorities have launched a fatal accident investigation to determine the precise cause of the incident, with the investigation ongoing.
