Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Hopes for German Missile Deliveries
In an interview with the German media outlet Axel Springer, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his continued hope for the delivery of German Taurus missiles. Zelensky stated that he wished Chancellor Olaf Scholz would provide the Taurus, as it would significantly strengthen Ukraine’s military capabilities.
Despite his desire for the missiles, Zelensky emphasized that he would not apply pressure on the Chancellor in this crucial matter. The Ukrainian leader also expressed his personal admiration for the leader of the German opposition, Friedrich Merz, whom he considers a strong and capable leader. Zelensky and Merz have only just begun their collaboration and the Ukrainian President hopes that Merz will support Ukraine in the future.
