The two parliament leaders are also scheduled to visit the rebuilt Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral.
In the Élysée Palace, Klöckner will hold a one-hour, face-to-face meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. She will also engage in discussions with French Prime Minister François Bayrou and French Senate President Gérard Larcher in separate meetings.
The focus of the encounters is to be the celebration of the German-French partnership and the goal of strengthening bilateral and European cooperation on a parliamentary level. In preparation, a joint parliamentary meeting is planned for June this year.
In a statement, Klöckner said, “The German-French partnership is the driving force behind the European project. The two parliaments, in particular, make a significant contribution to this. I would like to intensify this exchange. Europe has always been strong when the German-French relationship has been stable and resilient.
