In the first Sunday match of the 21st Bundesliga round, Holstein Kiel and VfL Bochum drew 2-2 in the relegation battle.
Both teams engaged in an intense contest from the start. Already after three minutes, the home team took the lead through a penalty converted by Steven Skrzybski. Subsequent injury breaks initially led to a slower pace of the game, but Bochum increased the tempo in the latter part of the first half and managed to turn the game around through a double strike by Myron Boadu in the 37th and 39th minutes.
In the second half, it did not take long for the hosts to equalize once more, with David Zec scoring a header from a free kick in the 50th minute. As the game went on, it seemed that Kiel would take the lead again, but the supposed opening goal by Lewis Holtby was disallowed due to a preceding foul. In the end, the match ended in a draw.
In the table, Bochum remains in last place, with Kiel right behind. For the Storks, the next match is scheduled for Sunday in Frankfurt, while Bochum faces a challenging game against Dortmund on Saturday.
