In the 19th matchday of the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt played out a 2-2 draw against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
The game got off to a controlled start, with Eintracht Frankfurt taking the lead through a penalty kick. TSG’s Kevin Akpoguma was penalized for a foul on Hugo Ekitike, who converted the spot kick to give his team the early advantage. Eintracht Frankfurt then increased their pressure and their efforts were rewarded in the 59th minute, when they thought they had equalized through a goal from Ekitike. However, the initial goal was disallowed due to an offside position by Adam Hlozek, who had been in a promising position earlier.
Five minutes later, the deadlock was finally broken, with Hlozek providing the assist for Gift Orban, who had a simple task of scoring the equalizer. The lead was short-lived, as Ekitike restored Eintracht Frankfurt’s advantage just six minutes later. The match then entered a frenetic finale, with both teams creating chances. In the dying minutes, Hlozek sealed the draw with a volley in the dying minutes of the game.
Eintracht Frankfurt will face VfL Wolfsburg in their next match, followed by a trip to Bayer Leverkusen to face the Kraichgauer on the following day.
