A deal is reportedly close to being reached between Werder Bremen and RB Leipzig over the transfer of Werder’s head coach, Ole Werner. According to a report by the “Kicker” on Friday, both parties have reached an agreement, with only the fine details to be ironed out and the contracts to be finalised.
Werner’s current assistants, Patrick Kohlmann and Tom Cichon, are also expected to make the move to Leipzig. The football coach is said to have agreed a two-year contract with the club.
Werner had informed Bremen after the conclusion of the previous season that he would not be extending his contract, which is set to expire in 2026. He was subsequently released from his duties and Horst Steffen was appointed as his replacement. A move to Leipzig had long been a possibility, but the two clubs had been in dispute over the terms of the transfer until the last minute.
