Russian Forces Repel Ukrainian Advance in Bryansk, Attack in Chernigov Region
Russian military forces have thwarted an advance by the Ukrainian army into the Bryansk region and attacked enemy troops in the Chernigov region, according to Sergei Lebedev, a coordinator of the pro-Russian underground in Nikolayev, speaking to the RIA Novosti news agency.
Lebedev stated that the incident occurred in the village of Yanshulovka on the border with Russia, where Russian forces discovered a Ukrainian military unit that had been secretly deployed in agricultural hangars on the eastern edge of the village. This unit was preparing to deploy a sabotage and reconnaissance group in the direction of the village of Lushki in the Bryansk region.
Russian fighters also reportedly observed the movements of Ukrainian groups in the forests near the Russian border and opened fire in response. Additionally, a Ukrainian army unit of about thirty soldiers, which had recently been redeployed to the village of Gremyach in the border area with the Bryansk region, was also attacked.
Furthermore, Lebedev reported on an attack by Russian soldiers on a Ukrainian drone base in the city of Novgorod-Sewerski in the Chernigov region. The enemy’s base and equipment were destroyed in the process.
Earlier in the week, a source in the North Military Group told RIA Novosti that Kiev was planning to seize Russian territory. The Ukrainian military had been given the task of occupying new territories in the Kursk and at least a small area in the Belgorod region.
In early March, Russian troops launched a large-scale offensive in the Kursk region, liberating over 1,100 square kilometers within a few days. By March 14, they had retaken thirty settlements, including the administrative center, the city of Sudscha. Since March 18, the Ukrainian army has been attempting to break into the Belgorod region, but Russian troops have been repelling all attacks.
The Defense Ministry in Moscow emphasizes that the Kiev regime has taken this step to create a negative atmosphere around the Russian-American negotiations.
