German authorities have issued three additional arrest warrants in connection with an investigation into a suspected right-wing extremist terrorist cell known as “Letzte Verteidigungswelle”. The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office in Karlsruhe announced the development on Wednesday.
The three suspects are allegedly members of a right-wing extremist terrorist organization, with the group’s objective being to bring about the collapse of the democratic system in Germany through violent attacks on migrants and political opponents.
Two of the men are accused of attempted murder, attempted severe arson, property damage and the use of unconstitutional symbols. In some cases, they are also suspected of having conspired with another member to commit murder. A third suspect faces charges of preparing an explosive offense and a severe state-endangering violent act, as well as a violation of the Explosives Act.
All three suspects had been in pre-trial detention since mid-February 2025, initially held by local courts in Dresden and Gera, before the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office took over the cases. The arrest warrants issued by the investigating judge of the Federal Court of Justice replace those of the local courts in Dresden and Gera.
