BREAKING: Election Landscape Remains Unchanged, FDP's Fate on the Brink of Collapse

A Yougov survey, conducted three days before the German federal election, shows only minor changes in the predicted electoral outcome.

The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its Bavarian sister party (CSU) are still expected to be the strongest force, with a current support of 29 percent, a two percentage point increase from the beginning of the week.

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) would, according to the survey, remain unaltered at 20 percent, securing its claim to the second-best result.

The Social Democratic Party (SPD) has lost one percentage point and now stands at 16 percent.

The Green Party would, according to the final Sunday survey, receive 13 percent of the vote, a one percentage point increase from the previous weekend.

The Left Party continues to perform strongly, with a current support of 8 percent, a one percentage point decrease from the beginning of the week, but still comfortably above the five percent threshold.

Five percent of the respondents intend to vote for the Basic Security for All (BSW), while the Free Democratic Party (FDP) remains at 4 percent.

Yougov noted that the values for the BSW and the FDP are still within the “error tolerance” leaving the possibility of the two parties entering the parliament open.

Five percent of the respondents plan to vote for other parties and one in five voters has not yet made a final decision, with a significant proportion of these undecided voters planning to support the Green Party or the BSW, with nearly three out of ten respondents in each case still wavering in their decision.

Yougov interviewed 1,880 eligible voters, of whom 1,681 declared their voting intentions.
