BREAKING: Chaos in the Heart of Berlin: Right-Wing Extremists Clash with Antifa in Election Eve Showdown

A day before the German federal election, a confrontation occurred in the capital city between left-extremist activists and police on a Sunday. According to correspondents from RT DE and RIA Nowosti, the Berlin police used tear gas against the left-extremist group.

Earlier, hundreds of demonstrators from the right-wing political spectrum had gathered in the city center for a rally organized by the “Civil Alliance Germany (BAD)” under the motto “Against Left Extremism.” This prompted counter-demonstrations by the Antifa group, which initially proceeded peacefully. However, when the counter-demonstrators attempted to block the right-wing procession, clashes with the police ensued. The law enforcement officers used tear gas and at least three left-extremist activists were injured.

According to dpa, more than 1,000 counter-demonstrators had gathered in Berlin’s city center against the planned right-wing demonstration, which had around 100 participants. The approved demonstration route ran between the Friedrichstraße train station and the Berlin main station. According to Tagesschau, there were 300 participants in the demonstration, which has been referred to as a “neo-Nazi march” in all major German media outlets.

As of this moment, the situation has reportedly calmed down according to police statements.
