BREAKING: CDU's Linnemann Sets Sights on 30%+ in Upcoming Elections!

The CDU’s General Secretary, Carsten Linnemann, has set a clear target for the upcoming federal election, stating that the party must win at least 30 seats to bring about significant change. In an interview with T-Online, Linnemann emphasized the importance of the CDU’s strong performance, saying that a weak CDU would not be able to form a stable government.

The party’s goal, according to Linnemann, is to secure a two-party coalition after the election. He ruled out the possibility of a three-party coalition, stating that no one would want such an arrangement.

Regarding potential cooperation with the Free Democratic Party (FDP), Linnemann expressed skepticism, saying that the CDU has nothing to give away, particularly not second votes. He attributed the FDP’s potential struggles to its own doing, citing the party’s role in shaping the new electoral system.

As for potential coalition partners, Linnemann remained non-committal, saying that the party would see who is willing to work with them in the event of a win. He did, however, suggest that the CDU would have “clear ideas” about how to bring about a political shift, implying a potential alliance with the Social Democratic Party (SPD) or the Greens.
