A submachine gun, Radom, Model 88 Tantal, which was secured in the Kreuzberg apartment of former RAF terrorist Daniela Klette, is believed to have been used in two armed robberies on cash transports. This is according to a report by a forensic expert from the Federal Criminal Police, which the “Spiegel” is citing in its Saturday edition.
According to the report, shell casings of armor-piercing ammunition, which can be linked to the weapon, were seized at the botched robbery in Stuhr, Bremen (2015) and in Cremlingen (2016). It is alleged that Klette and her suspected accomplices, Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub, carried out a heist on a cash transport in Stuhr and Cremlingen, netting 1.38 million euros. In total, the trio is accused of 13 armed robberies on cash transports and supermarkets, in which they allegedly stole 2.7 million euros.
Daniela Klette was arrested in Berlin after more than 30 years on the run in February of last year. The trial against her is set to begin at the end of March in the state security courtroom of the Higher Regional Court in Celle.
