Alexander Dobrindt, the newly appointed Federal Minister of the Interior, has expressed his intention to address the issue of migration as his top priority. In an interview with RTL and ntv, Dobrindt emphasized the need to address the polarization in Germany and restore balance. He stated that migration questions must be clarified and migration needs to be reestablished on a stable footing by ensuring that numbers decrease. Dobrindt has already planned several measures to achieve this. These include increasing returns at the borders, suspending family reunification and reducing the number of returns, even in countries like Syria and Afghanistan. Although there may be discussions and adjustments within the coalition, Dobrindt is committed to implementing the hard measures agreed upon in the coalition agreement to achieve the migration turnaround. His responsibility is to ensure the implementation and fulfillment of these measures.
