German Border Controls Unmet with Resistance, Police Report
BERLIN, GERMANY – The German Federal Police has not encountered any significant resistance from migrants or asylum seekers at the border controls since the introduction of expanded measures, a top official said.
“We have not experienced any significant extensions of resistance” said Andreas Roßkopf, the chairman of the Police Union’s section for the Federal Police, in an interview with the Mediengruppe Bayern newspapers.
The number of police personnel deployed at the borders remains around 13,000, with increased surveillance of the “green border” area, where more patrols are now in place to intensively monitor the region between control stations.
