A recent memorandum, signed by US President Donald Trump, has revoked the security clearances for 15 individuals, including former Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The decision was based on the argument that the individuals in question no longer have access to classified information in the national interest.
The list of individuals whose security clearances were revoked also includes members of the Biden family, a move that has raised some surprise given that they previously held the clearances. Trump has directed the relevant agencies and officials to immediately revoke the clearances and deny the individuals in question unescorted access to government facilities.
In a similar move, President Biden had revoked the security clearances for Trump and his closest associates shortly after taking office in January 2021.
