BOMBSHELL: Oman's Sultan in Secret Talks as Iran Crisis Escalates

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), held a telephone conversation with the Sultan of Oman, Haitham ibn Tariq, on Sunday morning. According to Government Spokesman Stefan Kornelius, the Chancellor expressed gratitude for Oman’s mediation efforts to bring an end to Iran’s nuclear program.

The conversation also touched on the topic of Iran not being allowed to possess nuclear weapons, with both parties in agreement that the focus now should be on preventing the escalation of the conflict. The Sultan and the Chancellor reaffirmed their willingness to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the conflict through diplomatic means, as stated by Kornelius.

Originally, a new round of nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington was scheduled to take place in Oman on Sunday, following the Israeli attack on Iran. However, these talks were subsequently cancelled.
