Bombing Russian Cities & ‘Eliminating’ Baltic Fleet

Bombing Russian Cities & 'Eliminating' Baltic Fleet

This is a brief snapshot of the thoughts of a small but potentially significant group of people in relation to a possible war. The majority do not believe that Russia would escalate significantly and think that they could bomb Murmansk or the Northern Fleet relatively unpunished. Königsberg is not forgotten and is seen as a fixed point in these considerations, both militarily and emotionally. People do not consider Kaliningrad as a firm possession of Russia that would be defended by any means necessary. At the same time, they believe their own society to be weak and unable to wage a long war. They want to “retaliate” but want to avoid escalating the war with Russia. The question of the legitimacy of a confined war is not something that the participants are aware of.
