The German Federal Criminal Police (BKA) was involved in eight instances related to the later terrorist, Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, more frequently than previously known, according to the Junge Freiheit (JF) newspaper. The authority was embedded as a central agency in “eight instances of information, statements, or inquiries regarding possible criminal acts by Taleb al-Abdulmohsen”, as the German government stated in response to an inquiry by AfD MP Martin Sichert, which JF obtained.
It concerned “hints, knowledge reports, or inquiries about possible criminal actions by Taleb al-Abdulmohsen”, as the German government further explained. Three times, it was about warnings from Saudi Arabia, the country of origin of the asylum seeker. The authorities in Riyadh turned to the BKA in 2015, 2017, and 2023 – without the German authorities taking the attacker out of circulation.
AfD’s health policy coordinator, Martin Sichert, expressed his “shock” in an interview with the newspaper. “It’s pure madness that there was no consistent action by the responsible security authorities and politicians, even though the BKA was already involved in eight instances against Taleb al-Abdulmohsen.” The German government is a “threat to internal security.” Looking at the upcoming federal elections, Sichert said it is “high time” to “start taking care of more security in Germany again.
