False Alarm or Not, Investigation Ongoing
A false alarm or a genuine threat, the situation at Berlin’s Alt-Schmargendorf Elementary School remains unclear. The school’s lockdown, triggered by an “Amok-Alarm” around 4:15 pm, has left parents and authorities scrambling for answers.
As the school’s after-hours care program, or “Hort” was still in session, the timely response of the police and fire department was crucial. Over a hundred police officers were deployed to the scene, cordoning off the surrounding area.
While the initial alarm sent shockwaves through the community, the Berlin Police later announced that the incident may have been a false alarm. The investigation, however, is ongoing, and the true nature of the event remains to be determined.
