Berlin Man Found Dead Murder Probe Launched

Berlin police are investigating the death of a 48-year-old man in the Mitte district. The case has been taken over by the 8th Homicide Investigation Unit of the State Criminal Police Office and the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office, as confirmed by authorities on Saturday evening.

Shortly before noon, a 42-year-old man presented himself at a police precinct, reporting that he had injured another man in an apartment on Leipziger Straße. Emergency services responding to the location discovered the 48-year-old man deceased within the apartment of the multi-family building. A physician on scene pronounced him dead.

The suspect, aged 42, is scheduled to appear before an investigating judge at the Tiergarten District Court on Sunday. The purpose of the appearance is to seek a warrant for his arrest. Investigations into the precise circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
