German football star Jamal Musiala has agreed to extend his contract with FC Bayern München, the club announced on Friday. The 21-year-old German international has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2030, a premature extension of his original contract.
FC Bayern’s board of directors chairman, Jan-Christian Dreesen, expressed his delight at the news, stating, “Jamal has made a big leap again in this season and we’re very happy to continue our journey together.” Dreesen also praised Musiala as an “identification figure” and a representation of the club’s “Mia san Mia” spirit, despite his young age.
The details of the new contract, including whether it includes a release clause, have not been disclosed. Musiala initially joined FC Bayern from Chelsea’s youth academy in the summer of 2019 and made his professional debut in May 2020. Currently, the attacking midfielder has played in 193 official matches, scoring 58 goals and providing 31 assists.
