BANK HORROR: Hostage Crisis Unfolds in Hesse

A hostage-taking incident occurred at a bank in Rimbach, a municipality in the Bergstraße district of southern Hesse, on Tuesday.

According to the police, a man entered the branch around 8 am and is currently holding at least one person against their will, with a person being held hostage. A large number of police officers, including specialized units, are on the scene.

The area around the branch has been cordoned off, and further details were initially not disclosed. Meanwhile, Bild newspaper reports that SEK (Special Response Unit) officers have surrounded the building, with the man allegedly armed with a knife and having taken a woman hostage.
