'Backward' Parties Betray Women's Interests!

In a recent interview, the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), Saskia Esken, criticized the Union and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) for not prioritizing the interests of women in their election campaigns. According to Esken, the SPD has a long history of fighting for gender equality and continues to do so today, advocating for policies such as more shared parental responsibilities, equal pay and equal power.

Esken expressed her disbelief at the FDP’s claim that it is not feasible to have more women in leadership positions in the current economic situation and the Union’s efforts to roll back progress on women’s rights. She emphasized that women deserve more than just empty words from the FDP and the Union and urged women to vote for the SPD in the upcoming federal election.

The SPD leader also addressed the issues of reproductive rights and domestic violence, stating that women should not be dictated to by men on their reproductive choices and that the real threat to women’s safety lies in the home, not in the dark corners of public spaces.
