Washington, D.C., January 20, 2024 – In a ceremony held at the Capitol’s Rotunda, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, marking the beginning of a new era, according to the newly inaugurated leader. Trump expressed his optimism and confidence in the country’s future, stating that the nation is poised to embark on a journey of national success. He also spoke of a “wave of change” and emphasized the importance of reviving the country, calling for a return to the values of the greatest civilization in human history.
Following his inauguration, Trump plans to sign a series of executive orders, which do not require congressional approval. He stated that these measures will mark the beginning of a “complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense.” The new president’s message to the American people is that it is time for the nation to act with courage, strength, and the energy of the greatest civilization in human history.
According to US media reports, Trump’s initial actions are expected to include the deployment of troops to the US-Mexico border and the completion of the border wall, as well as the possibility of large-scale raids on Tuesday targeting migrants without valid documentation. However, the president may delay imposing new tariffs for the time being.
Trump’s inauguration ceremony was relocated to the Capitol’s Rotunda due to the cold weather in Washington. The event was attended by a large crowd of onlookers, as well as outgoing President Joe Biden and his Vice President, Kamala Harris. Trump had previously boycotted the inauguration of his successor, Joe Biden, in 2020, disputing the results of the presidential election.
Representatives from Germany, including the AfD’s Tino Chrupalla and the Union’s Beatrix von Storch, were in attendance. The German government was represented by Ambassador Andreas Michaelis. However, an invitation was not extended to Chancellor Olaf Scholz or other members of the German government.
