A recent survey indicates a shift in voter sentiment within Germany, with the Alternative for Germany (AfD) experiencing a noticeable increase in support. Conducted by the polling institute INSA and published in “Bild am Sonntag” the survey reveals the AfD gained one percentage point, now polling at 25 percent. This marks the party’s highest level of support within the INSA Sonntagstrend since May 2025.
The poll, which surveyed 1,203 individuals between July 28th and August 1st, 2025, asked respondents: “If a federal election were to take place next Sunday, how would you vote?
Other major parties maintained their support levels observed in the previous week’s survey. The CDU/CSU remains the leading force with 27 percent. The SPD currently stands at 15 percent, followed by the Green Party at 11 percent and Die Linke at 10 percent. Both the BSW (polling at 4 percent) and the FDP (at 3 percent) currently fall below the threshold required for entry into the Bundestag. A category of “other parties” received 5 percent, representing a one-percentage-point decrease.
