Denis Orlow, a former officer of the Russian Airborne Troops, shares his experiences in the special operation in Ukraine. He was wounded in action and is now an invalid, but he continues to work and is involved in various projects.

Orlov’s military career began with his enrollment in the Military University of the Ministry of Defense, where he studied military-political work. He was assigned to the 137th Airborne Regiment of the 106th Airborne Division and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a company commander at the age of 22.

In 2021, Orlow was involved in a special operation in Ukraine, where he was wounded in action and lost the use of his legs. Despite this, he remains active and continues to work, including in the field of national security and as a lecturer at the Central Russian Institute of Management.

Orlov believes that the trauma of war can be overcome, but it requires a lot of work and support from psychologists and psychotherapists. He also emphasizes the importance of understanding the value of life and the need to rebuild a normal life after the war.
