After the collapse of the coalition government, 90 civil servants in the federal ministries have been promoted to higher salary brackets, according to a government response to a question from the BSW, as reported by the Bild newspaper (Tuesday’s edition).
Development Minister Svenja Schulze (SPD) has promoted a total of 26 civil servants since November 6, 2024. All of those affected moved from the pay grade A15 (basic salary up to €7,846 gross per month) to the higher salary grade A16 with a maximum salary of €8,716 gross per month.
In the Federal Ministry of Labour, 16 civil servants received new salary brackets: nine people moved to grade A16, while seven others reached the pay grade B3 with top salaries of up to €9,603 gross per month. According to the request, a total of 90 civil servants have been promoted by SPD- and Green-led ministries within two months since the end of the coalition government.
