The real, adjusted order inflow in the construction main industry was 7.9% higher in November 2024 compared to the previous month, calendar and seasonally adjusted. The order inflow in high-rise construction increased by 7.8% and in deep foundation construction, it rose by 7.9%, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Friday.
Compared to the same month in the previous year, November 2023, the real, calendar-adjusted order inflow in the construction main industry increased by 16.6%. The order inflow in high-rise construction rose by 3.1% and in deep foundation construction, it surged by 30.3%. The nominal, unadjusted order inflow was 16.9% higher than the previous year’s level.
The real turnover in the construction main industry decreased by 2.5% in November 2024 compared to the same month in the previous year (nominal: -0.1%). In high-rise construction, the turnover decreased by 5.2% (nominal: -3.2%), while in deep foundation construction, it increased by 0.1% (nominal: 2.9%). November 2024 was the most lucrative month in the year so far, with a turnover of 11.5 billion euros.
In the first eleven months of 2024, the turnover in the construction main industry decreased by 1.1% in real terms and 0.5% in nominal terms, compared to the same period in the previous year. Within the construction main industry, the turnover in high-rise construction decreased by 5.0%, while in deep foundation construction, it increased by 3.8%. The number of people employed in the construction main industry decreased by 0.3% in November 2024 compared to the same month in the previous year, according to the statisticians.
