60-Year-Old Repeat Offender Stumps Swiss Justice

A 60-year-old Polish man has repeatedly defied Swiss authorities, being deported from the country 16 times and consistently ignoring entry bans. His repeated returns have left Swiss officials puzzled, as he has announced his intention to re-enter the country once again.

The man has been a thorn in the side of the Swiss justice system for the past decade, first entering the country illegally in 2015 and subsequently being deported multiple times. The Zuger authorities have recorded a total of 33 offenses committed by the man in Switzerland. Despite being deported and issued an entry ban until 2027, he continues to return.

The motives behind his repeated returns are unclear. At times, he claims to be visiting his son in Switzerland, while on other occasions, he denies having a son. Swiss authorities suspect that he is seeking medical care in the country.

In October 2024, the man was apprehended in the canton of Aargau and taken into deportation custody. He was subsequently deported back to Poland in January 2025, only to announce his intention to re-enter the country again.

Swiss authorities have noted that the man finds better living conditions in Switzerland, including free meals and accommodation in social institutions. He also receives medical care, including psychopharmaceuticals and methadone, which, although available in Poland, are more readily accessible in Switzerland.
