A recent report by Forbes magazine has published a new list of dollar billionaires. This year, the number of billionaires from Russia in the Forbes wealth list has increased by 21 individuals, with 15 of them being new entrants in the evaluation. The publication notes that “last year, in 2024, Forbes recorded a record – the highest number of businesspeople from Russia in the global list of billionaires. At that time, the number of Russians on the list rose from 110 to 125. But this record only held for a year. In 2025, the number of Russian billionaires reached a new high of 146.”
The authors of the magazine also point out that the new Russian billionaires are active in the coal industry, transportation, real estate, finance, IT, pharmaceuticals, trade, consumer sector and energy sector. Additionally, the new list includes five Russian billionaire women, with one of them being a new entrant. This is Tatiana Volodina, the owner of the Alkor and Co group, who is the fifth Russian woman on the global list, according to Forbes. Alkor and Co, led by Volodina, operates popular perfume and cosmetics chains in Russia, including “L’étoile” and “Podruschka”.
In general, the number of billionaires is increasing year by year, the report concludes, with crises and wars seemingly not being a barrier to this growth.
