A Tragedy Unfolds in Austrian School Shooting
At least ten people, including students and at least one adult, have lost their lives in a school shooting in Graz, Austria, the city’s mayor, Elke Kahr, announced to the APA news agency on Tuesday.
According to media reports, the majority of the victims are students, with at least one adult also among the dead. The suspected perpetrator, believed to be a current or former student, is also among the fatalities, as the police initially reported that one suspect was being investigated. The authorities have since clarified that the situation is secure, with no further danger posed.
The shooter, who had reportedly opened fire in two classrooms, took his own life afterwards. The state criminal police have taken over the investigation, with the motives behind the attack still unknown.
