German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) called for social cohesion in his New Year’s speech, despite the various crises.
“The times are challenging, and we all feel it: Our economy is struggling. Life has become more expensive” the Chancellor said. “In the face of such concerns, many are wondering what the future holds for Germany. My answer to that is: Our unity makes us strong.”
“And we have it in our hands together: We can make 2025 a good year with respect for one another, with trust in one another, with interest in one another, and with engagement for one another. So that things go well in our country” Scholz said.
