German MP Karamba Diaby Warns of Attacks on Migrants After Magdeburg Assault
The SPD member of the German parliament, Karamba Diaby, who hails from Senegal and resides in Saxony-Anhalt, has warned of attacks on people of migrant background following the Magdeburg assault. “There are now many threats against migrants – under the motto: ‘Foreigners out.’ There are also increased attacks, at least I notice that in networks” he told the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” (Tuesday edition). “I find this very unsettling and frightening.”
Diaby added, “The Magdeburg assault was a shocking event. The perpetrator must be held accountable. But a general suspicion is terrifying. We should ensure that the population comes together now.” Earlier, church representatives had complained that migrants were afraid of being attacked.
