After the Magdeburg attack, Konstantin von Notz, the chairman of the Parliamentary Control Committee, criticizes deficiencies in recognizing hints at the perpetrator and in combining information.
“The Magdeburg attack, which is simply appalling, reminds us in a striking way of the Breitscheidplatz attack eight years ago” von Notz told the “Rheinische Post”. It seems once again that there is a general knowledge deficiency and a problem in combining the various information regarding the perpetrator and the threat emanating from him.
“We expect the federal government and the state government of Saxony-Anhalt to provide detailed information in the coming days on who knew what about the perpetrator when and how these hints were actually addressed” the Green’s interior politician said.
