The 17th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga saw Hamburger SV defeat SpVgg Greuther Fürth 5-0.
The Hanseatic team needed only a quarter of an hour to set the course for a win. By the 13th minute, the home team had already taken a 3-0 lead, thanks to goals from Dennis Hadzikadunic, Davie Selke, and Adam Karabec, kick-starting the Hamburg blitz. The HSV then shifted gears.
Greuther Fürth’s guests also had their chances, but failed to capitalize on them. In contrast, the Hamburg players were eager to score, with Selke and Otto Stange adding to the score in the second half.
After the winter break, the Franken will resume their season in mid-January in Münster against Preußen, facing the 1. FC Köln in a traditional duel.
The other matchday results: SC Paderborn 1, Karlsruher SC 2, and Preußen Münster 0, SSV Ulm 0.
