NRW’s Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU) plans to revive the hospital reform by Bundesgesundheitsminister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) in case of a Union election victory. “The next federal government – regardless of its color – must get back on track” said Laumann to the “Rheinische Post”.
Above all, the provisions for doctor numbers must be reconsidered: “Lauterbach makes unrealistic and completely unrealistic personnel provisions for specialists. There is not that much personnel available. No one has explained to me so far where the specialist doctors will suddenly come from. This will lead to supply bottlenecks in East Westphalia or the Sauerland. This has a planned economy character, as they intend to operate” said Laumann further.
The CDU politician said: “I do not plan to completely reverse the reform, but it must be changed. The coalition has left the situation on the ground very far behind.
