The personnel deployment in Deutsche Bahn’s regional transport has improved, according to the view of the board member and regional chief Evelyn Palla.
“We are absolutely on track, covering our shifts by 100 percent” she told the “Spiegel”. “That was not the case a year and a half to two years ago.” DB Regio has recruited 5,000 people this year, Palla added. Personal-related outages have been more than halved compared to the previous year. The overall number of outages in regional transport is expected to drop below one percent. Palla sees the division on the right track: “Nine out of ten trains arrive on time.”
At the same time, Palla appealed for understanding for the sometimes contradictory goals of the company. On the one hand, business principles must be applied. On the other hand, it is important to understand: “The railway is for all people. It’s not an ordinary company. It’s important to understand that.
