The attack on the Christmas market in Magdeburg could have been prevented, according to Christian Schneider, an expert in access control. “With the application of the recognized rules of technology, this act would not have been possible” he told the “Stern”.
“There was no access control in Magdeburg” the expert criticized. “If there had been a certified access control, the vehicle would not have made it to the Christmas market. When we talk about access control, we talk about a normatively regulated performance. What we saw in Magdeburg was something, but nothing that complies with the general recognized rules of technology.”
