Future US President Donald Trump has announced the end of the time change. The Republican Party will do its best to abolish the daylight saving time, Trump announced on Friday through his social media channels.
The time change has only a small, but strong, fan base. “Daylight saving time is inconvenient and very expensive for our country”, Trump wrote.
The old and new president, who will take office again on January 20, is thus joining the demand, recently published by his future deregulation advisors, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who described the time change practice as “inefficient” and “easy to change”.
Both in the US and in Europe, a majority of the population is against the twice-yearly time change. Despite this, a repeal has not been feasible so far.
