In the municipality of Dietingen in the Rottweil district of the Baden-Württemberg region, a 12-year-old boy was severely injured by a head shot over the weekend. The preliminary investigations had revealed a pressing suspicion of attempted murder against a youth, the police reported on Tuesday.
Following a request from the Rottweil state prosecutor leading the investigation, a judge issued an arrest warrant against the accused youth on Tuesday. The 14-year-old boy, according to media reports, was taken to a juvenile detention center.
The criminal police investigations into the background and circumstances of the case were initially still ongoing. The state prosecutor has also launched an investigation against the accused youth’s legal guardians on charges of weapons law violations and the suspicion of reckless bodily harm.
The crime occurred on Sunday at a residential house. The victim was flown to a Stuttgart hospital by rescue helicopter in the evening – his exact condition was still unclear on Tuesday.
