The European Union and Switzerland have concluded the year-long negotiations on cooperation. The EU Commission announced this on Friday in Brussels.
The cooperation includes, among other things, the updating of five agreements that already grant Switzerland access to the EU’s internal market: air transport, road transport, free movement, conformity assessment, and trade in agricultural products.
In addition, agreements on food safety and in the health sector are to come. The financial contribution of Switzerland to the European Union is also to be re-regulated.
“This agreement makes our partnership future-proof and enables both sides to fully exploit the potential of our close cooperation” said EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
