BOMBSHELL: Magdeburg's Security Flaws Exposed!

Before the special session of the German federal interior committee on the deadly attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market, the SPD’s Lars Castellucci, an interior policy expert, criticized gaps in the security concept on the spot.

“It’s becoming clear that this act could have been prevented, with a comprehensive review of the anomalies and timely intervention, but also with the meticulous adherence to the security concept on the spot” the deputy chairman of the interior committee told the “Tagesspiegel” (Monday edition). “I expect clarification” Castellucci added.

Meanwhile, the CDU’s Alexander Throm, the union’s interior policy spokesperson, demanded that Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) explain at the special session on Monday why the attacker was not classified as a relevant threat before the attack. The question arises, he said, whether there was a comprehensive information exchange between the federal government and the states, or if “misunderstood data protection” prevented it, as told to the “Tagesspiegel”.
