Before the special meeting of the Interior Committee in the German Bundestag, the Greens have demanded more transparency in the handling of the Magdeburg attack.
“It’s important that the exact time sequences, information flows, and responsibilities are worked out and presented before one starts the hundredth debate on stricter laws and expanded powers” said the Green’s interior politician Konstantin von Notz to the “Rheinische Post” (Monday’s edition). “Because this debate always suggests that no one bears or takes political responsibility and that no one did anything wrong, it only lacked laws and powers” said von Notz.
“If one wants to learn from the devastating Magdeburg attack, one must first precisely analyze how it happened. In this respect, we expect a comprehensive presentation of the relevant events and circumstances, including the time sequences” the Green politician said.
