Bayern’s Economic Minister Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voter) has expressed disappointment over the failure of the planned power plant law in this legislative period and has demanded a rapid re-submission of the plan under the new federal government. “The next government must quickly revise and implement the law” Aiwanger told the “Rheinische Post” (Friday edition).
The points of criticism that Bavaria and industry associations had raised about the power plant safety law had only been partially addressed, Aiwanger said. “The current draft law still has many weaknesses and needs to be adapted, even if I regret the repeated delay very much” he said. “We need more additional, secure, and controllable power plant capacity in Bavaria. This will secure the long-term supply of power for Bavaria’s economy.
