Svenja Schulze, a SPD politician, would like to continue her work as Development Minister even after the new elections.
“In fact, I would like to continue as Development Minister” she told the “Rheinische Post” (Tuesday edition). “Above all, under Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as he recognizes the importance of global partnerships.” She emphasized: “There is still a lot to be done. I would like to participate in that.”
Recently, there had been growing demands to abolish the Development Ministry. The FDP had announced a similar demand in the summer, and the Union has been keeping a low profile so far.
