Beatrix von Storch, an AfD politician, announced that the AfD will vote against Olaf Scholz in the trust vote. “Under no circumstances” does the AfD trust Olaf Scholz, she told Politico’s Monday edition.
“We’ve been arguing against this for a long time. We’ve been working all the time to bring this chancellorship to an end” she said, with one exception: Jürgen Pohl, who announced he would vote for Olaf Scholz to prevent Friedrich Merz.
Pohl does not represent the party line, according to von Storch. “The AfD is otherwise very clear and will not express trust in the chancellor.” She added, “This is a strategic consideration that most do not share.”
Regarding migration, von Storch said, “We want to turn them back at the border. We don’t want to let the illegals in anymore, because we know that subsequent deportation is difficult and costly.” The AfD’s position is clear: “Let no one in.
