British driver Lando Norris has won the Formula 1 qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The McLaren pilot secured the pole position for the race on Sunday alongside his team-mate Oscar Piastri and Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz Jr.

German driver Nico Hülkenberg (Haas) surprisingly drove strongly, securing a start position of four ahead of the already set world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull).

The further places in the qualifying in Abu Dhabi took the following form: Gasly (Alpine), Russell (Mercedes), Alonso (Aston Martin), Bottas (Alfa Romeo) and Perez (Red Bull).
