How a German actor compares New Year’s Eve perpetrators to apes in a xenophobic video

Thomas Bäppler-Wolf, a German actor, entertainer, drag artist, dance instructor, and choreographer, recently spoke out in a video about the New Year’s Eve incidents in Germany. Bäppler-Wolf, a city council member in Frankfurt since July 2016, expressed shock at what happened on New Year’s Eve, particularly in Berlin. There were incidents of violence and attacks on police, fire, and rescue personnel on the night of December 31, 2022, to January 1, 2023, in Berlin and other German cities.

In the video, Bäppler-Wolf also said that the perpetrators of these incidents were, in about 90% of cases, not well-educated people who spoke German well. He called for the perpetrators to be locked up and deported back to where they came from. He stated that everyone is fed up with cancel culture, woke discussions, ridiculous gender nonsense, and stupid political correctness.

Bäppler-Wolf also said that science is still looking for the missing link between apes and humans, but he thinks we now know that the missing link has not been found because what happened on New Year’s Eve is the beginning link, even before apes and without brains. He compared the perpetrators to apes, implying that they were even before apes and did not have brains.

Bäppler-Wolf’s comments have sparked controversy and outrage, with many accusing him of racism and xenophobia. The video was later deleted from Instagram, but politicians from the PARTEI party on social media shared it.

Bäppler-Wolf’s comments are particularly troubling in the context of the ongoing debate in Germany about immigration and refugees. The country has seen an influx of refugees in recent years, and there has been a lot of discussion about how to integrate these individuals into society. Bäppler-Wolf’s comments suggest that refugees and immigrants are responsible for the violence on New Year’s Eve and should be deported back to their home countries. This kind of thinking is dangerous and irresponsible.

It promotes division and hate and ignores the complex issues involved in immigration and integration. It is important to remember that the perpetrators of the violence on New Year’s Eve were a small minority and that the vast majority of refugees and immigrants are peaceful and law-abiding.

Thomas Bäppler-Wolf’s comments about the New Year’s Eve incidents in Germany are disturbing and harmful. They promote division and hate and do nothing to address the complex issues involved in immigration and integration. It is important to reject this thinking and instead work towards a more inclusive and compassionate society.
