France is expected to provide light battle tanks to Ukraine, becoming the first country to send Western combat arms to the war-torn country.
Official Paris can offer some of the “AMX-10” military vehicles, which are being replaced by the new “Jaguar” model.
They will be a step ahead of the Soviet-era tanks that various countries have sent to Ukraine.
“We must put an end to Russian aggression this year and not delay equipping ourselves with defense capabilities that can accelerate the defeat of the terrorist state. Modern western tanks are only one of these capacities,” declared Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Meanwhile in Russia, the Ministry of Defense reported that there has been an ongoing offensive in the direction of Donetsk, stating that Russian troops had successfully repelled counterattacks by the Ukrainian side in the south of the region.
